The handheld is not responding to the stylus.

Open the Prefs menu. This might take a few tries, since your handheld is already acting funny with the stylus! In the upper right hand corner, select Digitizer from the pull down menu. Redigitize your handheld. It would be a good idea to do this several times, incase it doesn't quite work the first time.

The handheld is not sending and/or receiving beams.

Here are a few things to check when your handheld is having problems beaming:
1. Are the handhelds on the same plane? It's best to set them both on a desk facing each other to beam.
2. Are the handhelds close enough so the beaming signal is received? It's probably best if the handhelds are within several inches of each other.
3. Wipe off the infrared eye on both handhelds where the signal is sent. (On m130s this is on the top of the upper left side of the handheld.) This will clear any kind of buildup from dirty fingers, erasure or dust, etc.
4. Check to make sure each handheld is set to receive beams. Go to the Pref menu. In the upper right hand corner, select General from the pull down menu. Is the handheld set to receive beams? If that preference is turned off, turn it on by clicking on the down arrow.

The handheld is frozen.

Try to perform a soft reset on the handheld. With a paperclip, press the button inside the hole on the back of the handheld. No data will be lost when you do this.

Is it still frozen? You will need to do a system hard reset. Hold down the top scroll button on the front of the handheld and press the reset button with a paperclip on the back of the handheld. (Hopefully you have preformed a hotsync recently, because this will delete everything on your handheld. It is very important to perform hotsyncs regularly!)

The handheld won't turn on.

Try to perform a soft reset on the handheld. With a paperclip, press the reset button inside the hole on the back of the handheld. No data will be lost when you do this.

Is it still not turning on? You may need to recharge the battery. It can happen that the handheld gets stuck resting against something in your bag preventing it from turning itself off. (Hopefully you have preformed a hotsync recently - a completely dead battery deletes everything on your handheld. It is very important to perform hotsyncs regularly!)
